Future Focus Research have been commissioned by Cardiff County Council after a competitive tendering process to conduct their Visitor Survey. A total of 1250 visitors to the city will be interviewed throughout the summer and early Autumn on a range of days and times across the week. In all there will be 5 sampling points at Cardiff Castle, St Fagans National History Museum, The National Museum, Cardiff Visitor Centre and Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre.
Kelly Jones, Research Director, who will be running the project has had previous experience with it as she ran it for 5 years whilst at MRUK. She said ‘It’s a great project to be working on and the interviewers enjoy working on it as the locations are of such cultural interest and the respondents are out to enjoy themselves and are therefore happy to be interviewed.’ Visitors are asked a range of questions relating to why they visited Cardiff to, what attractions they visited, and how satisfied they were with their visit. The culmination is an assessment of the extent to which they would recommend Cardiff to someone else and if anything could be improved. Interviews will be conducted using hand held touch screen Tablets which automatically upload their results to the main FFR server on completion.
